The high carbohydrate content makes it a great option for fueling up the day before a match or a race. Potatoes are rich in carbohydrates, providing a quick and sustained source of energy. Parmesan cheese is relatively high in protein, with approximately 10 grams of protein per ounce. Protein is essential for muscle repair and growth, making it beneficial for athletes looking to recover from workouts or build lean muscle mass.
Health Benefits
Potatoes are a good source of vitamin C, B vitamins, and iron, which are essential for energy production, immune function, and oxygen transport in the body. They contain dietary fibre, which aids in digestion and promotes gut health. A healthy digestive system is important for optimal nutrient absorption and overall performance. Parmesan cheese is a good source of calcium, crucial for bone health and strength, which is important for athletes to prevent injuries and maintain overall physical performance.
